Euclid Blade & Edge Junior Club
What is Junior Club?
Junior Club is an opportunity for skaters to improve their skills using techniques and methods not traditionally used in Learn-to-Skate classes. It is not a replacement for Learn-to-Skate, but rather a supplemental experience for those skaters who want to advance more quickly and may not be ready for private lessons. It is also a great opportunity for skaters who take private lessons to practice their skills in a group setting.
How is Junior Club different from regular group lessons?
Junior Club teaches skills that are not covered in the regular Basic Skills curriculum, and prepares skaters to move up to full club membership if they so desire. In addition, Junior Club teaches skaters how to use the full ice surface safely and courteously. Skaters will receive semi-private instruction and individualized attention. Each Junior Club session will consist of a 30 minute session – the first 15 minutes of semi-private instruction followed by 15 minutes of open practice. Junior Club skaters may also skate on other selected Club sessions for additional practice or private lessons. Junior Club is not a substitute for Learn-to-Skate, but rather a fun and exciting supplemental skills session.
Who is eligible to join Junior Club?
Any skater of any age, who has passed USFSA Basic 4, may attend Junior Club sessions. Skaters will be grouped by skill level, and will be challenged to learn moves and skills beyond their current levels.
What is the cost for Junior Club?
There is an annual registration fee of $30.00 per skater for Junior Club membership. In addition, Junior Club may be contracted at a rate of $10.00 per 30 minute session. This rate includes 15 minutes of semi-private instructional time and 15 minutes of full ice practice time. Sessions will be held on Saturdays from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. beginning on September 6, 2008.
